How to start a career in a store?

The first job or starting a new career is an important moment for every candidate. The experience gained in an unfamiliar working environment often defines the further development of our career path. If retail, fashion and customer service are the areas in which you want to develop - find out about the competencies that are important in this job and the daily duties of employees in fashion stores.

Key competencies and development opportunities

The working environment in retail is very dynamic. Flexibility and quick responses to challenges allow employees to adapt their tasks and working hours to the current situation in the store. The division of tasks – the role of the store manager – allows the daily work to be managed efficiently. It includes managing deliveries, customer service, processing e-commerce orders, maintaining the appearance of the store according to standards and many other equally important tasks. Every store employee should have the skills to work as part of a team to provide customers with a positive shopping experience. The different roles in the store ensure a smooth and seamless service that attracts new customers and builds positive relationships within the team. It is important that staff members are able to focus on a purpose and work towards it together – each team role requires task and time management skills. Soft skills – communication and openness – are also important in ensuring a good customer experience.

For those starting in a seller’s position, we provide a high-quality induction that prepares you for all tasks in your new job. You learn about the product life cycle, managing returns and working with modern technologies implemented in the stores of our brands. If you want/need to develop, we give you the opportunity to do so. After gaining experience as a seller, you can be promoted to the positions of a décor specialist, store manager, and senior seller not only within one store, but also all four other LPP brands. The more knowledge you gain about LPP’s business, the easier it is for you to advance within the company’s internal structures. We have in mind different roles in our offices – in Kraków, Gdańsk or Warsaw. The world of fashion is full of opportunities; a job in a fashion store can be the start of a career in this interesting environment!

The shops of our brands – Reserved, Cropp, Mohito, House, and Sinsay are the most important parts of our business – it is there that customers get to know our collections, build their opinion of the whole organisation, and look for products that help them express themselves.
