LPP has supported over 300 facilities. The value of charitable aid amounts to nearly PLN 5.7 million


The Polish clothing manufacturer, owner of such brands as Reserved, Mohito, Cropp, House and Sinsay, has already allocated nearly PLN 5.7 million to support the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, donating, among other things, one million protective masks to over 300 medical facilities throughout Poland. Moreover, thanks to the cooperation with nearly 50 organizations, over 27 thousand cotton masks and 1660 protective overalls, sewn by the company’s employees, have reached those most in need. Brands of the Polish manufacturer were also involved in the aid actions, allocating for this purpose over PLN 230,000 from the sale of Joyful and Eco Aware collections. These are the effects of the #LPPpomaga action which has been run by the Gdańsk-based company since March this year.

As the epidemiological situation in Poland worsened and the demand for personal protective equipment grew, the company from Gdańsk received further requests for support from many parties. Since mid-March, every day, dozens of employees have been involved in aid actions to provide support to isolation and specialist hospitals as well as social welfare homes, foundations and medical centres. From week to week, not only the list of beneficiaries expanded, but also ideas for charity actions.

So far, as part of an internal initiative, over 100 employees of the company from Gdańsk, Kraków and Warsaw have been involved in sewing personal protective equipment. As a result, over 1660 overalls and about 27.2 thousand cotton masks have been delivered to those in need via 50 social organisations with which LPP started cooperation. More than 3100 meters of interlining, 1250 meters of fabric, more than 7100 meters of elastic band and about 500 thousand meters of thread have been used. Moreover, since the beginning of the pandemic, the company has purchased one million protective masks worth PLN 5.4 million for over 300 facilities throughout Poland. Along with the growing demand, the company decided to extend its support beyond Pomerania and Małopolska and reach centres located in other regions of the country.

– Each year, dozens of our employees actively work as part of employee volunteering programme. With our initiatives, we try to respond to the needs of our neighbours or long-term partners mainly. However, the epidemic has brought us into a new reality in which our spirit of solidarity has helped us to find ourselves. It was exactly that spirit that spurred many actions to support those most affected by the pandemic and prompted us to expand the scope of our activities and reach out to institutions located all over Poland – Patrycja Zbytniewska, Social Projects Coordinator and President of the LPP Foundation.

LPP has always directed its charitable activities to people and organizations in the immediate surroundings of the company. This time also it responded to local needs, thanks to which seniors from the Dolne Miasto district of Gdańsk were provided with over 870 lunches. In addition, 100 computers were delivered to 18 children’s homes in Pomerania and Kraków, thanks to which 150 pupils can continue their remote learning.

Specialist hospitals from Kraków, Gdańsk and Gdynia could also count on the support from Reserved, Mohito and Cropp brands. Thanks to the decision to donate 10% of the proceeds from the sale of Eco Aware and Joyful collections of these brands to medical institutions, the necessary equipment and protective measures to combat the coronavirus epidemic were purchased. Thus, Department of Infectious Diseases of the University Hospital in Kraków obtained an air decontamination system, and Jan Paweł II Specialist Hospital in Kraków purchased personal protective equipment for employees. The Pomeranian Centre for Infectious Diseases and Tuberculosis in Gdańsk purchased a patient monitor and a defibrillator, while the University Centre for Marine and Tropical Medicine in Gdynia purchased a resuscitation unit for cardiac arrest patients.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, as part of the LPPpomaga action, the Gdańsk-based company has been providing both financial and in-kind support to those most affected by the coronavirus epidemic. Further initiatives of dozens of employees not only broaden the scope of assistance, but also give many people faith for the better tomorrow.
