We consciously build sustainable relations with our environment. For 20 years, we have been actively learning the needs and expectations of stakeholders, undertaking initiatives to reach that goal.
LPP’S CONTRIBUTION TO THE ECONOMY
The operations of LPP are highly beneficial for Polish economy. We are one of the largest taxpayers in Poland and the largest taxpayer in the Pomerania region. We are also an important participant of the Polish social and economic life. According to our ambitious plan for development by 2021, we will, among others, spend PLN 2 bln on domestic investments. By no means, this will substantially improve our country’s economic standing.
Sixty-five percent of the product value, including design, distribution through the logistic centre, IT, services and taxes, are generated in Poland. Things that we value the most – concepts, designs, added value – are created in Poland. This is how we contribute to the country’s economic development and the growth of our industry.

DEVELOPING TALENTS AND OUR INDUSTRY
LPP X FASHION ILLUSTRATION
ACROSS EUROPE WITH BEST FASHION ILLUSTRATION 2018
LPP has been consistently supporting artistic education and actively promoting talented artists. In 2018, we became engaged as partner in the project encompassing an international exhibition of works of fashion illustrators – Across Europe with Best Fashion Illustration. The exhibition was shown in 5 Polish cities: Gdańsk, Cracow, Warsaw, Łódź and Wrocław, featuring more than 60 works of 40 outstanding fashion illustrators from all over the world, e.g. Milan, New York, Berlin, Tokio and Gdańsk. Numerous creators of exhibited works cooperate with leading editorial offices and fashion houses. Among exhibited works, there were also illustrations made by Kasia Smoczyńska from the Reserved team.
The works differed in terms of art techniques, from traditional watercolours to modern digital graphics. All of them had a common purpose – presenting a creative idea which, over time, will reach process engineers, tailors, and finally – customers. The exhibition was dedicated not only to young fashion lovers but also to fashion and design enthusiasts. The objective of LPP as partner in this project was artistic education and promoting careers in the creative branch.
INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC DEBATES – LPP FASHION THINK TANK
Apart from exhibitions in Cracow, Łódź and Gdańsk, we organised the LPP Fashion Think Tank, a series of debates at which we talked with invited experts about development possibilities and fashion industry realities.
Specific debates concerned details of work in industry-specific professions, showing:
in Cracow – perspectives of a graphic designer and fashion designer,
in Łódź – perspectives of a fashion designer and process engineer,
in Gdańsk – perspectives of the fashion designer – merchandiser duet on different markets.
Guests invited had also the opportunity to tell about sources of their inspirations and creation of trends, putting emphasis on soft skills both in the work of design teams and when cooperating with partners from all over the world.

WE COOPERATE WITH COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES
Working together with art colleges and universities is an extremely important element of cooperation with our social environment. This way we may not only promote the fashion industry but also attract talented candidates, offering them opportunities to develop their professional careers.
- As part of the LPP Fashion Think Tank, we worked together with the Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design (SAPU), academies of fine arts in Gdańsk, Cracow and Łódź, and the Łódź University of Technology.
- We were a strategic partner of the Cracow Fashion Week. During the graduation ceremony, we awarded 4 honourable mentions and offered internships in our company. We also held design workshops at SAPU.
- We organised an open-day event for students of the Łódź Academy of Fine Arts at the LPP headquarters and design workshops for 30 participants.
- We organised periodical LPP and Mohito workshops at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts, which ended (with the participation of students of the Clothing Design Studio) with a photoshoot of a mini-collection designed and its presentation in the shopping windows of two Mohito stores in Cracow.
- We organised LPP Behind-the-Scenes event for graduates of various colleges and universities. They could acquaint themselves with occupations such as fashion merchandiser, designer or process engineer. In total, we organised 5 open-day events: 2 in Gdańsk and 3 in Cracow, joined in total by 110 participants.
THE FIRST FITTING: ENABLING GROWTH, LEVELLING THE PLAYING FIELD
The First Fitting is a unique community project aimed at helping young people in different types of foster care. As part of the project, we help them learn basic professional skills and start their adult life. We are happy to share our experience knowing that we contribute to levelling the playing field.
We launched the project in 2017 together with the Gdańsk Foundation for Social Innovation. In 2018, the second edition of the project was joined by other partners – the Rodzinny Gdańsk Foundation and the Atalaya Foundation from Warsaw.
The First Fitting is:
- support for young people entering the labour market by teaching them how to write a CV or prepare for a job interview,
- store internship possibilities,
- mentoring offered by a designated store employee who shares their knowledge, experience and gives support throughout the internship.
As part of the 2018 edition, we held workshops for future mentors before they started working with their interns.
In 2018, the project was joined by 16 persons working in 9 brand stores – 4 in the Tri-City and 5 in Warsaw for over 2.5 thousand hours. Some of them continue to work in LPP. What are the project’s results? Participants of the First Fitting project acquire valuable professional and social skills while we gain engaged members for our teams. A win-win situation!

We pay particular attention to projects aimed at:
- empowering socially excluded persons,
- providing in-kind support to our closest neighbours,
- introducing innovative and ecological solutions in the textile industry,
- artistic education,
- we make in-kind donations to people who need help the most.
LPP FOR HEALTH
CANCER AWARENESS WORKSHOPS
We actively promote cancer prevention – in 2018, in LPP’s head office in Gdańsk, we organised the Cancer Awareness Workshop, with sessions conducted by esteemed psycho-oncologists from the Polish Psycho-Oncology Society, who discussed cancer risk factors and presented preventive methods. As much as 150 employees took part in that workshop! This is of major importance for us as cancer incidence in Poland is constantly on the increase. We believe that, considering the high number of workshop participants, cancer awareness has been enhanced and that our employees will willingly have medical check-ups on a regular basis.
PASSIONATE ABOUT VOLUNTEERING — FOR YEARS
LPP has been supporting internal employee initiatives for years. That is why we asked them what charity projects should be of interest to us. At the end of 2017, we simply asked our employees what kind of community service projects the company should participate in. A large group of employees wanted to get involved in projects such as painting a hospital or sharing their skills in IT, foreign languages or sewing.
For LPP, volunteering is a win-win situation: by helping others we grow ourselves. In 2018, the employee volunteering programme was joined by 150 people who worked for 858 hours, taking part in various activities: from helping animals to painting hospital rooms. Where specifically did our volunteers work?
The most spectacular initiative of our employees was the renovation of a cystic fibrosis outpatient clinic of the Polanki Children’s Hospital in Gdańsk. In response to the hospital’s request, 29 persons became engaged in the said project, spending 250 hours to work on the project. Among them, there were two architects who designed a comprehensive makeover of the clinic’s interiors, and employees of the LPP Servicing and Maintenance Department, who chose a subcontractor to perform major renovation works (tiles, flooring and wall removal; wall construction). Finally, a group of our volunteers painted the rooms, assembled furniture and cleaned consulting rooms.
LPP volunteers painted, insulated and renovated over a dozen of cat shelters at a cat rescue shelter located in the Gdańsk Shipyard and the Nauta Shipyard in Gdynia. These activities were carried out upon their own initiative and, owing to a team work, took only two days!
What is more, 40 LPP volunteers were involved in the renovation of ceilings at the Paediatric Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Unit of the Copernicus Hospital. They spent 400 hours working on that project!
The decision to establish the Foundation was made in December 2017 as a natural consequence
of LPP’s growing social engagement. The Foundation’s goal is to work for the benefit of people and the environment.

- providing in-kind aid and projects supporting our closest neighbours,
- introducing innovative and ecological solutions in the textile industry.
