LPP distinguished in the Debut category of the CSR Reports Competition 2018

The first CSR report of LPP “Let’s get to know each other better” received a distinction in the Debut category of the 12th edition of the CSR Reports Competition organized by Responsible Business Forum and Deloitte.

The way of presenting the business model and functioning of the company’s value chain was appreciated, as well as the bold manner of addressing the difficult issue of responsibility in the supply chain.

This year’s 12th edition of the CSR Reports Competition attracted a record number of applications. A total of 49 companies took part, presenting their CSR/sustainable development reports, integrated reports and reports on non-financial information.

LPP also decided to participate in the competition with its first ever CSR report – “Let’s get to know each other better”. The submitted publications were evaluated by the expert jury composed of specialists in the fields of economics, environmental protection, social issues, as well as corporate social responsibility. All reports were also subject to voting by internet users.

LPP’s integrated report was distinguished by the competition jury in the “Debut” category. As stated in the justification, it was appreciated first of all for the interesting presentation of the business model and the way in which the company’s value chain operates, as well as for the bold manner of addressing the difficult issue of responsibility in the supply chain, showing credibly the tools for controlling compliance with the adopted rules and indicators concerning the audits carried out. The distinction was also granted for the educational value of the report for the market and stakeholders.

– Our first report constitutes a summary of the most important information in the field of sustainable business and social responsibility, which, apart from our development, has been an important area of activity of LPP for years. Undoubtedly, it does not exhaust the subject matter of our activities in this area. We have already been working hard on the next report, which I truly believe will be an interesting continuation of our account of the activities conducted by LPP in the area of CSR – explains Sławomir Ronkowski, Communications and Sustainable Development Department in LPP.

In the “Let’s get to know each other better” report, LPP emphasized the basic values that guide the company during the stage of creating the collection. It explains how a whole range of factors and processes affect the final shape of the clothing brand offer, but also shows the degree of involvement in social activity at each stage of the company’s operations.

– “Let’s get to know each other better”, as the title suggests, was also an opportunity for us to present the business model of a clothing company, starting from design, through production, to the sale of the collections. We wanted to show the challenges we face and the processes that drive our activity. The report also allowed us to present our team. We are a transparent company and we openly communicate our activity, so we wanted to show who we are – who stands behind the designs of our collections, who designs our stores, and, finally, who distributes and delivers our collections on time to our customers. In the next year’s report the emphasis will be placed mainly on the customers and our activities for their benefit, explains Sławomir Ronkowski.

In the 12th edition of the CSR Reports Competition, prizes were awarded in 8 categories. The expert jury selected the winners of the award for the integrated report, CSR report, report of a non-business institution, and awarded the distinctions. Moreover, the winners were also selected by the journalist jury, the Minister of Investment and Economic Development, the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and internet users.
