Over 600 thousand zlotys in just a few months – The LPP Foundation supports those in need

The Foundation helps children and youth in difficult life situations, supports both organizations caring for people at risk of social exclusion, as well as local medical facilities and the sick. The activities carried out by the LPP Foundation, established by a clothing company from Gdańsk, reach a wide group of people in need. This year alone, the Foundation has already donated over PLN 600,000 to support dozens of non-governmental organizations in Pomerania and Małopolska and to implement initiatives organized by LPP employees.

– Our employees feel a strong need to help, which translates into a number of spontaneous activities. They paint hospital walls, organize aid actions for sick colleagues or collect funds for animal shelters. Employee volunteer actions in this form combined with a long tradition of cash and in-kind donations by LPP makes it possible for us to reach many organizations, especially those operating in our vicinity in Pomerania and Małopolska. The LPP Foundation aims to provide support for grassroot initiatives of our employees and to continue the company’s long-established good practices – says Patrycja Zbytniewska, President of the LPP Foundation.

LPP, a Polish clothing company, has been involved in helping those in need for over 20 years. So far, it has supported over 800 facilities, donating over PLN 20 million worth of goods to this end. The activity of the LPP Foundation established at the end of 2017 confirms that this area is an important element of the activity of the whole group. It will be consistently developed in the near future.

– As a Polish clothing company, we cannot function in isolation from values and the environment, therefore our charitable activities and pro-social and ecological initiatives have taken the form of regular support for various entities. This approach is inscribed in the culture of the company, which is best evidenced by the commitment of our employees to volunteering and their initiatives for the benefit of the needy, which we are happy to support. It is good energy, which we do not intend to withhold, but rather want to boost and deepen – says Sławomir Łoboda, Vice-President of the Management Board of the LPP Foundation and President of the Council of the LPP Foundation.

Special sales actions, organized this year in the Tri-City, Kraków and Warsaw for LPP employees, have proved very popular. The goal is simple – to support those in need. This year, the Foundation provided funds for the organization of summer holidays for children and youth from children’s homes in the Tri-City and Kraków, scholarships for 42 wards of the Orphan Children’s Fund operating at the Hospice Foundation in Gdańsk, and support for the purchase of equipment in health institutions caring for children in Pomerania and Małopolska. Employees of LPP also carried out volunteer projects for animal care institutions, including the Maciek Kozłowski Foundation Pan i Pani Pies in Kraków and for the Pomeranian Temporary Cat Home.

An important area of the LPP charitable activity are also in-kind donations made to organizations taking care of, among others, children and youth, people at risk of social exclusion, the sick or disabled and the homeless, as well as institutions organizing assistance for victims of natural disasters. This year, the Foundation has donated nearly 30 thousand pieces of clothing to these institutions.

– As part of the LPP Foundation’s activities, we also provide in-kind assistance. This year, 41 entities have already benefited from this form of support. We are particularly involved in projects supporting the independence of people at risk of social exclusion, but since we are a clothing company, our environment is made up of both people and the natural environment. That is why we also acknowledge the need for ecological solutions in the clothing industry. This need gave rise to the idea of collecting clothes in Reserved stores – adds Patrycja Zbytniewska. This year, a clothing collection programme was launched in 20 Reserved stores, aimed at providing items of clothing to those in need via the LPP Foundation. Customers can donate clothes regardless of the brand or manufacturer, and the collected items are provided to the St. Brother Albert Society helping the homeless and the poor.
